#EduSnap Photography Project 2019

For a second time, the Cape Town Museum of Childhood collaborated with the Orms Cape Town School of Photography and invited high school learners in Cape Town to participate in their “#EduSnap” smartphone photography project. Five students were guided by Lauren Theunissen, a lecturer at the Orms Cape Town School of Photography, through the process of creating a photographic exhibition. The project theme for this year was “leadership” and participants were asked to take photographs that unpack ideas on the qualities of a leader and leadership that is witnessed in their immediate communities.

Participates of the project were  Maahir Davids (Islamia College), Adrianne Svenson (Belgravia High School), Imaan Mowzer (Athlone High School ), Taybah Salie and Lutfeeya Cupido (The Leadership College). Two of our alumni Edusnappers, Megan Blows and Michael Bususu, joined this year’s project as mentors.

On the 27 September 2019 the Cape Town Museum of Childhood hosted an exhibition of the photographs taken during the course of this project at the Orms Cape Town School of Photography.
